Story
The film depicts the tragic Baghjan oil well blast, weaving in a fictionalized narrative based on true events. Shot on location with affected individuals, including protagonist Janeki and others who lost homes and property, it captures their harrowing experiences. During filming, they stayed in real relief camps due to ongoing fires, while COVID-19 peaked. As the director, I share the same background as the community, enhancing our emotional connection.

Director Statement:

I am honored to share our latest film, inspired by a real-life tragedy. The story revolves around a devastating oil site explosion that destroyed an entire village, causing immense loss and environmental damage. This film highlights how corporate negligence can have disastrous consequences on people’s lives.

Through this film, we explore the struggles and resilience of the villagers who had to rebuild their lives from nothing. Using a mix of real and fictional storytelling, we aim to raise awareness about the importance of safety measures and corporate responsibility. It serves as a reminder of how neglecting safety can have long-lasting effects on both people and nature.

As a director, I was deeply moved by the real experiences of those affected. I wanted to bring their voices to the screen in a way that not only tells their story but also makes people think and take action. Every scene has been carefully crafted to create empathy and understanding.

This film is more than just a story—it’s the voice of the people. It urges us to question corporate ethics and fight for a world where human lives and the environment come first. I invite you to be part of this journey, to witness the strength of the human spirit, and to stand for justice.

Thank you for your support and for believing in the power of cinema to bring change.
